Conrad Hall died about three weeks ago (Jan 4th 2003) and when I heard about it, this little pang of sadness came over me. Now, I didn't know the man but I knew a lot of his work, which made me feel like I knew him on some level. I'm sure some fans of his work out there feel the same.
You know, we lose a lot of good film production folks all the time. I don't know most of their names but when remembering the work of a great DP like Hall, we really give thanks to all the hard working crew out there we never hear about. Conrad L. Hall, one of our own, someone who lifted above the rest of us to make something wonderful. With his passing, we all lose a little something, cause we are all part of the same industry. However, that which we lost, is over shadowed by all we have gained through his wonderful work.
Conrad will be missed.
