Just some thoughts on this and that:
Like, why the hell are the studios thinking of making the films all digital, in shooting and in the theater?
Answer, money of course. Oh, they say the picture doesn't lose anything from showing to showing but who gives a rats ass if it looks like shit to begin with. I know there are other reasons, none of which make sense to me at this time. The last big imporvement made in the showing for films has been the I-Max format and the damn reels are too big making it hard to get a whole movie done in that format. Instead of trying to make the movie going experience better, they opt to try and save a buck in the long run. I feel they are trying to take our butter away. Pisses me off.
More on the digital bullshit.
I've downloaded a few shorts and I have to tell you, annoys the shit out of me. Does anyone believe that people are going to sit and wait for a stupid down load, when people can't even wait for a tape to rewind. With DVD's out, being able to go to any part of a movie you want in a second, the internet makes you feel like you are standing still. And the way it looks half the time, jittery and so damn small. I think it is a good thing for the future, I think that it's a good for people who work in the business and it helps if you have a T1 line or better yet a T3. Broad is coming but way to slow to make any difference, not soon enough anyway. So everyone is banking on the future, like they could own a part of the next Ma Bell.
AOL buys Time Warner and I still can't believe it.
One of the biggest companies in the movie making and publishing industry... What the hell is going on. Time Warner bought up by a company whos biggest contribution to subscribers is instant messages and lazy ass shopping. Then you have Jim Henson's company being bought buy the Germans. The French are throwing their hats in the ring. All americans can think of now-a-days is Dot Com. Dot Com my ass. (Yes I know that I have a web site, I see the irony)
Just felt a little rant coming on, had to get rid of it.
